VisionTally
: Product Overview VisionTally scans a bundle of lumber from both
ends at once. The bundle of lumber is simply placed between the
two scanning towers of VisionTally:
- A signal is given to VisionTally
that the bundle is in place
- VisionTally signals the user when the
scanning process is complete
- The tally results are immediately
available for visual display, print or transfer
VisionTally takes actual measurements of each
board. These measurements —thickness, width and length—
provide actual board footage for each board, each course, the entire
bundle,
and for each unique
tally dimension contained in the bundle. These actual measurements are used to
create nominal board dimensions and tallies. Using VisionTally output, lumber
inventory may be maintained to display both actual and nominal
footage and tallies not only for each bundle, but also for
each course or group of courses within a bundle. VisionTally also records the
location of each board in the bundle. Boards, courses or groups of courses
can be selected by desired footage or tally. This information
increases the productivity of pulling lumber to fill sales orders. VisionTally
supports all tally applications in the lumber industry.
- Green lumber can be scanned for both footage and tally while in the
original mill packed bundle.
- Purchased KD lumber may be scanned and verified, while still in the
customer packed bundle.
- KD lumber processed through dry kilns may be scanned and tallied for
KD lumber receiving.
- Pull-to-order bundles for customer shipment may be automatically scanned
and tallied.
- VisionTally handles all these applications and bundle types without
requiring any special board marks or bundle preparation.
